All 32 teams in the NFL have had to deal with an unusual offseason due to the coronavirus pandemic. Despite the unusual circumstances, Jared Goff believes the Los Angeles Rams have an advantage over other teams this offseason.

“It’s so fluid, it changes every week at this point,” Goff said, via the Los Angeles Daily News. “It’ll be good that the whole league will have to stick to a similar program, so there won’t be any disadvantage in that way. I do think we [the Rams] have an advantage offensively with the same system, the same players and everything. Our defense is obviously going to have to get on the grass and learn their new system.”

Throughout the offseason, the Rams have lost Todd Gurley and Brandin Cooks on the offensive side of the ball. However, Los Angeles has a handful of players that can replace the production of those two guys. Not to mention, Goff still has Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, Tyler Higbee, and Gerald Everett to target through the air.

Above all, even though the Rams hired Kevin O'Connell as their new offensive coordinator, they'll still be running a similar system to the one that was implemented in 2017 when Sean McVay arrived. Therefore, Goff doesn't believe that Los Angeles' offense will need much time to get into a rhythm this offseason.

On the other hand, the Rams also hired Brandon Staley as their new defensive coordinator. Provided that, they'll need some time to adjust to the new schemes that Staley puts into place. Following a disappointing campaign in 2019, Goff believes the Rams will be well-prepared on offense despite the limitations that have come into fruition this offseason.
