A number of teams are already courting impending free agent Kirk Cousins, including the Arizona Cardinals. If Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff could have it his way, Cousins would ultimately sign elsewhere.

Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald have already made their pitches to Cousins, in addition to Denver Broncos star linebacker Von Miller. The Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, and Minnesota Vikings reportedly have interest in bringing in the former Washington Redskins signal caller as well.

Goff is impressed with the tape he's seen from Cousins, and he knows that if the Michigan State product ends up in Arizona, that's bad news for the Rams as they attempt to defend their NFC West crown in 2018.

Here's Goff's take on potentially having to face Cousins twice a year during an interview with Mike Florio on PFT Live:

“I’m hoping he doesn’t,” Goff said in a visit to the PFT Live set on Friday. “He’s a hell of a player. I’m a big fan of his, big fan of what he’s done.”

Goff, who threw his bust label in the trash with a stellar 2017 season, went on to say that he studied just about every snap Cousins took over the last three years as he learned Sean McVay's offense.

“He’s tremendous,” Goff said. “I don’t think he gets enough credit for what he’s done. Some of the throws he made [that] we see on film. You rewind it, you watch it again. It’s unbelievable.”

The NFC West is shaping up to be one of the more stacked divisions in the NFL, aside from the NFC South. The Rams ascended to the top of the division and retain one of the youngest rosters in football, the Seattle Seahawks still boast a boatload of talent, and the San Francisco 49ers are on the uptick behind Jimmy Garoppolo. If Cousins lands with the Cardinals, it further cements the division's prowess.
