Quarterback Jared Goff may not get a second contract with the Los Angeles Rams.

Pro Football Talk founder Mike Florio told the Dan Patrick Show on May 24 (via Bleacher Report's Rob Goldberg) he feels “skeptical” about Goff. Florio also added Rams head coach Sean McVay could end up with a quarterback of his preference.

I'm very skeptical about Jared Goff. I would not be surprised if he doesn't get a second contract with the Rams.

I think there's a chance Sean McVay at some point is going to find his own guy.

Remember he inherited Jared Goff and there may be someone out there that McVay is eyeing at some point to come in and be that long-term guy.

Florio told Patrick on Thursday the issue is whether the Rams are willing to pay Goff $35 million a year or get a younger quarterback at a cheaper price. It's clear Florio feels Jared Goff is not worth that kind of money.

The Rams exercised Goff's fifth-year option on April 23. That means he is under contract through the 2020 NFL season, per SI.com's Kaelen Jones. Goff is entering his fourth NFL season. The Rams made him the top overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft.

The Philadelphia Eagles exercised quarterback Carson Wentz's fifth-year option on April 29. CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin predicts Philly will offer Wentz an extension worth $30 million annually this summer. The Eagles selected Wentz second overall in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Will  Goff get a lucrative extension with the Rams? Mike Florio doesn't think so. It will be interesting to see how this scenario plays out.
