Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams had some added motivation going into the Wild Card game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Following the Rams' 30-20 victory, Goff mentioned how he was not happy with the Seahawks celebrating their division victory two weeks ago–using it as motivation heading into the playoff game.

“We come up here, and all week we were told how good they are and how we snuck into the playoffs. And 2 weeks ago, you saw them smoking cigars and getting all excited about beating us and winning the division–and we were able to come up here and beat them,” Goff said, per Gregg Beacham of the Associated Press.

Jared Goff isn't entirely wrong about the way many fans and media members saw this matchup. Moreover, with Goff not starting due to a thumb injury, hardly anyone was giving the Rams a shot in the game. However, they came to play and used the doubt as motivation.

The Rams had an up-and-down season with injuries and issues plaguing the team throughout. Goff himself was originally ruled out of the Wild Card game before being named as abackup to John Wolford. An injury to Wolford in the first quarter forced Goff into the game, which helped LA dominate the contest.

Goff threw for 155 yards and one touchdown in Saturday's game. Barring a win by the Chicago Bears on Sunday, the Rams will face off against the Green Bay Packers next week in the Divisional Round. For what it's worth, Sean McVay and Co. made it to the Super Bowl in 2018.
