The Los Angeles Rams are coming off their most successful season in well over a decade. The team capitalized on that forward momentum with a busy NFL offseason that saw them bring aboard plenty of proven talent through various trades and free agency.
This has significantly uplifted the level of expectations ahead of the Rams to put together an impressive 2018 campaign that could see them contend for a Super Bowl behind their talented roster. With that in mind, head coach Sean McVay has voiced that Los Angeles has more confidence that their revamped group of talent can help them take another huge step forward in 2018, according to Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.
There is plenty of reason for that increased level of excitement and buzz around the team given the several notable offseason additions that the front office made. It featured the Rams bringing in three star players on defense with a pair of All-Pro cornerbacks in Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib along with Pro Bowl defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. This also included the trade for proven wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who could step in as the top receiving option in the passing game next season.
This already adds to what is a promising roster that features strong, balanced team on both sides of the ball that took a tremendous step this past year winning the NFC West division title and earning a playoff berth. The acquisition of this other proven has only raised the bar of expectations while giving them a more formidable team that could make a strong push for the Super Bowl.
Although the Rams must first demonstrate that on the field next season, the team appears to be more than motivated for the challenges that will come in 2018.
