The Los Angeles Rams are preparing for a primetime matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs at home on Monday night.

This will include some added firepower on special teams with Pro Bowl special teams returner Pharoh Cooper has been activated to the active roster while second-year wide receiver Cooper Kupp has been placed on the season-ending injured reserve in corresponding moves, according to Clarence Dennis of TheRams.com.

The Los Angeles Rams made a pair of roster moves on Monday, activating WR Pharoh Cooper to the 53-man roster, and moving WR Cooper Kupp onto the club’s injured reserve list as a corresponding move.

The return of Cooper could provide a major boost to their special teams as he has proven to be a game-changing factor for the team in that regard. He has been sidelined the last nine games due to an ankle injury that landed him on the injured reserve. Cooper has been a huge asset to the team's success with his impact that saw him truly take off in that role last season as he averaged 27.4 yards per kick return including taking one back for a touchdown.

His designation to the active roster is a clear sign that he will be back in the fold to handle the kickoff duties out of the gate beginning on Monday night against the Chiefs. Meanwhile, the loss of Kupp is a major blow to the offense given that he has proven to be a key part of the passing game as one of the primary targets in the passing game for quarterback Jared Goff along with being an impact player in key situations third downs and in the red zone.

That said, the Rams have a pivotal game ahead against Kansas City that could play a pivotal in shaping the playoff picture in both conferences. It sets the table to what should be an exciting tilt between two of the league's best teams.
