Los Angeles Rams running back Malcolm Brown appears to be on his way to the injured reserve list.

Brown suffered a clavicle injury in the team's Week 13 win over the Detroit Lions, and the initial fears were that it could be one that kept him out for the remainder of the regular season.

And now it looks like those fears were warranted.

According to MJ Acosta of NFL Network, Rams head coach Sean McVay told reporters on Wednesday that Brown will need at least a few months to heal after having his clavicle reset.

Brown had 43 carries for 212 yards this season while serving as the primary backup for star running back Todd Gurley.

It was clear that Brown would likely continue to play a role down the stretch, so this isn't an ideal development for McVay's team.

However, the Rams still have Gurley on the field, and that should be enough to keep things rolling offensively.

Los Angeles has scored 30 points or more in 10 of 12 games this year, and Gurley and company should continue to have plenty of success when it comes to scoring points.

The Rams sit at 11-1 on the season, and they are now ahead of the New Orleans Saints in the race for home-field advantage after Sean Payton's squad fell to the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday.

This week could present some challenges for the high-powered Rams offense, as they'll head to Chicago for a showdown with the Bears.
