The Los Angeles Rams made a blockbuster trade in the offseason to bring in star cornerback Marcus Peters from the Kansas City Chiefs. Through two weeks of the 2018 NFL season, Peters looked like an incredible addition to the Rams’ secondary.

However, Peters might be unable to help his team on the field for at least a few games if the calf injury he suffered during a 35-23 win at home game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday is a serious one.

Adam Schefter of ESPN initially reported that the game's broadcast team said that Peters seemed to have suffered an Achilles, though,  he later received an update from a source that it was a calf ailment that the cornerback sustained.

Marcus Peters was not even able to finish the first half of the Chargers game, as he was forced out of the contest before halftime.

Peters’ injury didn’t greatly affect the outcome of the Rams’ date with the Chargers, but in case he misses more time, his absence will be a significant blow to his team’s stop unit that entered Week 3 ranked first in both scoring defense and total offense. The Rams have allowed just 6.5 points and 266.0 total yards per game in the last two contests.

While the Rams are hoping Peters’ injury isn’t serious enough to keep him sidelined in any of their next games, the fact that they only have three full days of rest before taking on the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday doesn’t help the 25-year-old cornerback’s outlook.
