The Los Angeles Rams gave up 55 points on Sunday in the NFC West club's first loss of the season to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 28-year-old veteran defensive end Michael Brockers reflected on the “humble” defeat.

Per Lindsey Thiry in ESPN.com:

A day after the Los Angeles Rams were upset by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Rams defensive end Michael Brockers said they were served “a piece of that little humble pie.”

“We're so used to winning, you know everybody expects us to win,” Brockers said. “So, coming from a game like that … you've got to sit down, gather yourself.”

“We always expect to win,” he said. “But when you have a game like that you just got to look back and say, ‘OK, this league is hard to win in.' You have to bring your hard hat every game.”

Brockers has been with the Rams since 2012, when the then–St. Louis organization selected the LSU product in the first round of the draft. A veteran of the team, Brockers shared his perspective on the loss for the Rams ahead of their huge primetime matchup with the division rival Seattle Seahawks on Thursday. Both teams enter the tilt at 3-1, tied for second in the NFC West behind the San Francisco 49ers, who are 3-0 and had a rest week over the weekend.

Brockers made four combined tackles and recorded one quarterback hit on Sunday in the home loss and has started on the defensive line for L.A. in 36 consecutive games. After this lesson in humility, the Rams' locker-room leader will be tested in the weeks ahead. Brockers has work to do.
