Through his first eight seasons in the league, All-Pro defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has built a strong reputation as being an over-aggressive player on the field that is hard to deal with at times. This has dated back to his days with the Detroit Lions where he was involved in some controversial plays.

The 31-year-old now has a fresh new opportunity with the Los Angeles Rams this upcoming season to further shed himself of that reputation. At the same time, Suh welcomes the fans to get to know him as a person and now allow for the perception of him become skewed by the outside noise, according to Lindsey Thiry of The LA Times.

Suh is at the point of his career where he has a career where he has a clear view and acknowledgment of how is perceived by others. His two seasons with the Miami Dolphins also didn't help his image as there were rumblings about his willingness to practice and involvement with the team.

The Rams present a chance for Suh to clear up that image while showing that he can be a major part of a team that can compete for a Super Bowl. He is still one of the league's best defensive tackles that can have a tremendous impact in Los Angeles next season in helping lift them to greater heights than last year.

The organization looks more than willing to take that chance on him with their high pursuit of him and paying him a $14 million salary for the 2018 campaign. It is a risk on the Rams' behalf, but there is plenty of opportunity for this to work out great in their favor while also highly benefiting Suh both on and off the field. This is something that only time will tell if he can be a feasible long-term pairing in Los Angeles beyond next season.
