This headline is just what Los Angeles Rams fans didn't want to hear.

The Rams traded away two first-round picks and a fourth-rounder to acquire superstar cornerback Jalen Ramsey from the Jacksonville Jaguars. Ramsey is approaching a contract season, and he'll surely ask for a record-breaking extension; after all, he now has all the leverage. Unfortunately for the Rams, there is currently no exact timeline on contract talks.

General manager Les Snead doesn't sound too concerned when speaking about Ramsey's contract situation. Via Pro Football Talk:

“We did put a timeline a little bit in place with it. I don’t want to give too many details on that. Again, we are just meeting Jalen today. Obviously. He to date has earned a chance to probably get a nice contract for the job he does and the position he plays.”

While analyzing the trade, one has to take into account the cap implications of the move. The Jaguars essentially acquired two high quality, cost-controlled players for a combined total of ten seasons.  This doesn't include the fourth-round selection, which is far more hit-or-miss. Although it's impossible to tell if those picks will turn into good players, Jacksonville completely turned around their money situation.

On the other hand, the Rams are in a tight spot. They have a slew of impending free agents, with lots of them being important ones. CB Aqib Talib, OLB Dante Fowler, and OT Andrew Whitworth are all due for extensions. Los Angeles seems set to make some tough decisions that will ultimately reshape their roster for years to come.
