Los Angeles Rams star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has had a bit of a quiet start to his career as a member of his new team. Part of the reason for that could be the fact that Beckham has picked up a hip injury, which caused him to miss practice on Thursday. Rams head coach Sean McVay provided an update on Beckham's injury status, and it was very telling.

Beckham was reportedly considered to be “up in the air” for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but McVay and the Rams have basically downplayed the severity of the hip pointer, as the head coach said he would be “surprised” if the star wideout wasn't out there.

McVay did note that the Rams will still list Beckham as questionable, but he is likely on the right side of that designation, judging by his head coach's comments.

Beckham caught just two passes in his Rams debut but followed that up with a much better showing against the Green Bay Packers, as he hauled in five passes for 81 yards, including a 54-yard touchdown.

McVay didn't exactly specify when Beckham sustained the injury, though it clearly didn't affect him in either of his first two Rams games, as he was on the field for 98 percent of the snaps in the game against Green Bay.

An active Odell Beckham Jr. would go a long way towards helping Sean McVay get the Rams offense back up to speed.
