The Los Angeles Rams didn't waste any time addressing the offense in the 2020 NFL Draft, taking Cam Akers and Van Jefferson in back-to-back picks. Following his selection, Robert Woods has set high expectations for Jefferson in 2020.

“I was like, ‘All right, this dude, already he has that swagger, he has the confidence to come in and dominate,’ ” Woods said, via the Los Angeles Times.

Prior to the 2020 NFL Draft, the Rams shipped Brandin Cooks to the Houston Texans in exchange for the No. 57 pick in the second round. With the No. 57 pick, Los Angeles took Jefferson to replace Cooks in the offense.

Even before Jefferson was selected, the Rams boast a talented receiving corps that features the likes of Woods, Cooper Kupp, and Josh Reynolds. As a matter of fact, Jefferson drew comparisons to Kupp during the pre-draft process.

The comparisons between Kupp and Jefferson were due to Jefferson's uncanny route-running ability. Despite inconsistent quarterback play at Florida, Jefferson combined for 84 receptions, 1,160 yards, and 12 touchdowns in the past two seasons.

While those numbers may not jump off of the page, when watching Jefferson's tape, it's evident that his game can translate to the NFL. It also helps that he'll be able to receive some tutelage from Woods and Kupp as a rookie in the NFL.

Besides Woods, Sean McVay was very complimentary of Jefferson when the Rams drafted him in the second round. Regardless of what his role looks like in 2020, Woods and Los Angeles believe Jefferson can make an immediate impact next season.
