The Los Angeles Rams weren't expecting a 3-2 start after a visit to the Super Bowl last season. But, after dropping two straight games, that's precisely where they are; sitting behind the 3-0 San Francisco 49ers and 4-1 Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West standings.

Los Angeles' slow start can be credited to many things. Running back Todd Gurley has looked far from his usual self; Jared Goff is taking a step back; the defense is yet to gel; and the rebuilt offensive line is showing their stripes as a younger, less experienced unit.

However, there may be another reason why the Rams are 3-2, and it echos Gregg Popovich's “I want some nasty” quote.

“I personally feel like we've got a lot of work to do,” wide receiver Robert Woods told ESPN. “Just got to play better, play faster, play more aggressive and — be nasty, I think, really… That's the biggest thing I would say. Be the aggressor. Be the hammer, not the nail.”

Los Angeles' lack of aggression shows in their box score. Despite claiming the status of one of the NFL's best offenses, they are yet to score a first-quarter touchdown. But, in both of their back-to-back losses, they have played the part of the comeback kid, only to lose due to their inability to close out games.

Luckily, the Rams have time to get “nasty.” They have a 10-day break in-between their Thursday Night Football loss and Week 6 bout against the 49ers. After facing San Francisco, their schedule gets easier, as their next three opponents currently boast a 2-10 record combined.
