The Los Angeles Rams have signed both general manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay to lucrative multi-year contract extensions, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The deals will keep the duo together for many years into the opening of the new stadium.

Given how well the Rams have performed over the last couple of years, the extensions were well-deserved for both men.

Snead took over as the Rams' general manager all the way back in 2012 when the franchise was still in St. Louis. While his first five years at the helm were rough, with the Rams missing the playoffs all five years and going just 4-12 in 2016, things began to turn around when Snead drafted Jared Goff at quarterback in 2016 and then hired McVay as head coach a year later.

Since McVay took over, the Rams have gone 24-8, winning back-to-back NFC West division titles and making it to the Super Bowl this past season before falling to the New England Patriots.

Prior to 2017, Los Angeles had not made the playoffs since the 2004-05 campaign, which, at the time, represented the longest active drought in the NFC, a demoralizing stretch considering just how consistent the Rams were in the late '90s and early 2000s.

But now, Los Angeles is back on track and is entering 2019 as one of the odds-on favorites to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl and potentially win the whole thing.

Snead and McVay have essentially brought this franchise back from the dead, so it's good to see them rewarded for it.
