The Los Angeles Rams were 11 points away from bringing a title home to Los Angeles in 2019. Led by young head coach Sean McVay, the team went 13-3 for the 2018 season and had one of the best offenses in the NFL.

A victim of the classic “Super Bowl hangover,” the Rams took a step back in 2019. The team still ended up winning nine games, but in an impossibly-tough NFC West division, that simply wasn't enough to make the playoffs.

This offseason, the LA has gotten rid of marquee players such as All-Pro running back Todd Gurley, Dante Fowler Jr. and Clay Matthews. For that reason, many think that they could be headed for a rebuild. However, if you ask McVay, he has a different perspective.

“I would never refer to it as that. I think that’s making excuses and running away from the expectations, which we’ll never do,” Sean McVay said this week, per an interview on the Rams' website. “We expect to win, we expect to prepare to win. We’ve got great people in this building – coaches, players alike. Our goal and expectation is to prepare to win every single game we play in. I believe we go into it that way. We didn’t do what we needed to do last year. I own that. I take full responsibility for it.”

McVay has gone 33-15 in three seasons as the Rams' head coach and has led the team to the playoffs in two of those three campaigns. To put that in better perspective, the team did not reach the postseason in the 12 seasons before his arrival.
