Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley left his team's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday as a result of a knee injury, but Gurley said on Thursday that he doesn't think it's a big deal.

According to Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com, Gurley, who missed practice on Thursday, plans to play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday:

“I think I'll be fine (to play Sunday),” Gurley said. “Just taking it day by day, recovering, resting, trying to feel better.”

However, Gurley must certainly not be 100 percent, because when asked if he could play if there were a game on Thursday, Gurley was cryptic in his response:

“Today? That's a tough question. I haven't tried to run, so that's a tough question.”

Still, given the stakes of Sunday's game, Gurley wants to be out on the field:

“We got a game and I'm pretty sure me being out there, if I can be out there, I would put this team in a good position to help them win,” Gurley said. “So why wouldn't I be out there if I can play in this situation? We just lost two, trying to get a first-round bye, like, that's what we are trying to do. We're trying to win.”

As Gurley stated, the Rams have lost two straight games and sit at 11-3. They currently own the second-best record in the NFC, but the Chicago Bears are hot on their heels at 10-4, so if Los Angeles wants to earn a first-round bye, it better start cleaning up its act.

After playing the Cardinals on the road this weekend, the Rams will close out their regular season at home against the San Francisco 49ers on Dec. 30.
