The Los Angeles Rams are a good team. It is wild to write that, as just last season the National Football League franchise was a laughing stock. Oddly enough, one of the biggest reasons for the team's rise doesn't nearly has as much to do with running back Todd Gurley as you might presume.

For what it is worth, Todd Gurley is good with that, as he claims he is far more worried about the win-loss record than he is about his specific role with the team.

Gurley hasn't had more than 17 carries in the last four weeks. You would think that might make him perturbed, but as we mentioned:

“As long as we’re winning, I’m cool,” Gurley said, via the Los Angeles Times. “Everybody’s roles are going to have to decrease. I can’t get the ball every time … It’s not all, ‘If Todd doesn’t get the ball 20 times, we’re going to lose.’ That’s a good thing. Even from teams seeing that, ‘Oh, they didn’t use Todd, but they’re still having a great game.’ So, for us just to have players on the team that can step up like that and play their role is amazing.”

Another fun tidbit of that column is Gurley saying the Rams can't celebrate after scoring touchdowns because — wait for it — they score too much.

“Bad chemistry on the celebrating, but it’s whatever,” Gurley said. “We get in there so much we don’t have to do it every time, so it’s cool.”

Gurley is a vital part of the team's success. He might not be THE reason for the uptick in play, but he's as valuable a non-QB player as the Rams have.
