The left knee of Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley has been a hot topic of discussion since December.

Gurley was knocked out of the final two games of the regular season due to a knee injury, but he returned in the Divisional Round of the playoffs and gashed the Dallas Cowboys for 115 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

Many them surmised that Gurley's knee was just fine, but then, Gurley was a virtual non-factor in both the NFC Championship Game and the Super Bowl, reviving conversations that he was not 100 percent.

Concerns about Gurley's knee have continued this offseason, with his trainer, Travelle Gaines, saying that there is an “arthritic component” to his knee and that it is being managed.

But during an interview with Trysta Krick of USA TODAY, Gurley bristled at the idea that he has arthritis, telling Krick that he “doesn't know what you're talking about.”

Gurley went on to say that he is merely focused on keeping to himself.

“I don’t pay attention to anything,” Gurley said. “I mind my business, do what I do, work out. Like I said, I’ve been playing this sport all my life so I’ve heard everything, I’ve seen everything, I’ve done everything.”

What's scary about the whole situation is that Gurley never flatly denied that he is dealing with arthritis, merely sidestepping the question and pretending not to know what was being said.

Of course, it's Gurley's own personal business and he is free to sidestep any question he pleases, but the fact that we have not gotten an outright denial from the 24-year-old is concerning.
