Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley is currently dealing with knee inflammation, but it doesn't seem too serious as he's considered day to day following the team's Week 15 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Rams' struggles continued on Sunday, as they lost their second straight game after a stellar 11-1 start on the season.

Gurley didn't appear to be his usual self in rushing for only 48 yards (and two touchdowns), which came a week after he had just 28 yards on the ground in the 15-6 loss to the Chicago Bears.

However, it sounds like the star back isn't dealing with anything serious, according to Rams beat writer Rich Hammond.

Todd Gurley has knee inflammation but nothing more, McVay said. Day to day.

Even with some of the recent problems, Gurley has still put together a tremendous season in posting 256 carries for 1,251 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also has 59 receptions for 580 yards and four scores.

There's no doubt that the Rams need him to be healthy for the playoff push, as McVay's squad needs to regain their rhythm in a hurry with only two weeks left in the regular season.

Luckily, the excellent start has Los Angeles in fine shape record-wise with an NFC West title already in hand, and now it's just a matter of figuring some of the issues out before the postseason.

The Rams will have two favorable matchups over the next two, which will start with a road game against the Arizona Cardinals before hosting the San Francisco 49ers in Week 17.
