Von Miller and the Los Angeles Rams got the job done Sunday night, beating the Cincinnati Bengals in dramatic fashion in Super Bowl 56. Following the game, Miller spoke about how he was fueled by other people, including his former teammate —  the late Demaryius Thomas —  to help the Rams finish their mission.

Via Doric Sam of Bleacher Report:

“I don't think I've ever played for more in my career. I was playing for D.T.; he passed away suddenly in December. I was playing for my son; he was born in August. I was playing for [sports psychologist] Trevor Moawad; he passed away after the very first game of the season.

“Playing for all of my teammates here—so many hard-working, so many talented guys, so many guys on my team that were deserving of this moment—and it feels good to give it to them. It feels good to give it to Aaron Donald, Andrew Whitworth, Jalen Ramsey, all of these guys that have been working their whole careers to get to this point.”

Wherever Thomas is right now, he must be proud of what Miller, the Rams' star pass rusher, had just accomplished. Miller is now a two-time Super Bowl champion, winning his first with the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50 back in 2016 together with Thomas.

Thomas passed away in December 2021 at the age of 33 due to a seizure.

Miller was traded to the Rams from Denver in November 2021. With his success with the Rams, it would be interesting to see whether LA will look to bring him back, as he is about to hit free agency.
