Los Angeles Rams quarterbacks coach Zac Taylor is expected to be named the Cincinnati Bengals head coach after the Super Bowl, but he is not letting the big promotion get in the way of the Super Bowl.

Taylor said it's “not hard at all” to focus on the big game against the New England Patriots this Sunday with the Bengals job looming and credits Sean McVay for helping him along the way.

“Sean has been great,” Taylor said, according to Paul Dehner of The Cincinnati Enquirer. “It is something all coaches strive to do at some point in their career. The important thing is to not allow it to be a distraction. Sean has been very up front and honest if any coach on our staff has been put in that position to let us take our day to kind of handle all that business then put it to rest and move on … we have 24 hours to do what we need to do then have to refocus.”

McVay has only been an NFL head coach for two years, but he is already starting to develop a coaching tree.

First, his former offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur took the Green Bay Packers' prestigious head-coaching job earlier in the month. Now, his quarterbacks coach will likely be moving on to greener pastures.

It's a testament to how highly the rest of the league views McVay, who has been considered revolutionary since taking over the Rams in 2017.

The 35-year-old Taylor first joined McVay's staff as an assistant wide receivers coach last year.
