The Los Angeles Rams are divorcing star running back Todd Gurley in order to avoid paying a $10.5 million bonus that would have triggered Thursday.

Gurley will don another uniform next season, but the Rams made sure to thank him for his contributions to the organization.

The Rams selected Gurley with the 10th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, and the former University of Georgia star would go on to make the Pro Bowl and win the 2015 NFL AP Offensive Rookie of the Year Award after rushing for over 1,100 yards and 10 touchdowns.

After a slightly underwhelming sophomore season, Gurley took his play to new heights. He led the NFL with 2,093 yards from scrimmage and 19 total touchdowns in 2017. The following season, Gurley had a career-high 21 total touchdowns, the best mark in the league yet again. He was named First Team All-Pro both years.

Gurley had a down year in 2019 as he was hampered by injuries, but he still managed to score 14 total touchdowns.

Although Gurley's NFL future is currently unknown, though he is sure to have any number of suitors given he will be just 26 years old in August.
