New York Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba is likely the most hated person at the moment for Pittsburgh Penguins fans after his high hit on Sidney Crosby during Game 5 of their Stanley Cup Playoffs series Wednesday night that left the Pens star with an upper-body injury.

Crosby could miss time with the injury. Even more infuriating for the Penguins is that it appears that the NHL will not have a hearing for Trouba's action that injured the future Hall of Famer, per Elliotte Friedman.

Trouba seems to have gotten away with a suspension here, which would be a plus for the Rangers for obvious reasons. New York's back is still against the wall after their 5-3 win in Game 5 on the road, as the Rangers remain down in the series, 3-2. A potential Crosby absence will be a big blow for the Penguins, as they won't just be losing their leader, but arguably their best player as well, so far in the playoffs.  The 34-year-old Crosby, who is pacing the Penguins in the Rangers series with nine points (2 goals, 7 assists), could potentially miss Game 6 and hope that Pittsburgh will be able to take care of business on Friday.

As for the Rangers, that win in Game 5 is definitely a shot in their arm, with both their offense and defense showing up at the same time at last.
