The Marcus Mariota era is over in Tennessee. The former No. 2 overall pick was benched during a 16-0 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 6. The Titans were 2-4 with Mariota as the starter and Mike Vrabel decided to make a change. He named Ryan Tannehill the starter and the Titans ended up in the AFC Championship Game.

Mariota will get another chance. He is 26-years old and will not have a huge price tag. Mariota threw for 1,203 yards with seven touchdowns and two interceptions before being benched. He was playing in the final year of his rookie contract and will be a free agent in March.

These are three teams that could look into Marcus Mariota this offseason.

3. Las Vegas Raiders

New city, new quarterback? The Derek Carr situation has been questionable for years. He is a player who once looked like he could win MVP before he went through a big fall in production. Who knows what the organization thinks of him.

Jon Gruden inherited Carr. This is not his hand-picked starting quarterback. Gruden is a figure who likes to be in control. If he sees an opportunity to make a change, he will take it. Marcus Mariota could be signed as a backup at first and eventually inherit the job.

2. New England Patriots

Tom Brady is having fun with his pending free agency. This is the first time that he will be a free agent in his career and he is taking advantage of it. Just look at his social media. Brady is more than likely returning to New England but anything is possible.

If Brady does not return, the Patriots will need a quarterback. Jarrett Stidham backed up Brady in 2019 but he is not ready to take control of the team next season. Marcus Mariota is a player with experience that could use a change of scenery. There is no better place to go than New England with Bill Belichick.

1. Los Angeles Chargers

The Patriots are No. 2 on this list because Tom Brady is most likely returning. The Chargers land at the top because they have decided to move on from Philip Rivers. Los Angeles will need a new quarterback and Marcus Mariota can be that budget replacement.

The Chargers will have a chance to add a quarterback in the draft if they want. Justin Herbert and/or Tua Tagovailoa will be available. Both of them will not be top-five picks. Even if the Chargers draft a quarterback, they could still opt to sign Mariota for a small amount and have the rookie sit for a season. There are a lot of options the Chargers could go with but it will not be Rivers.
