The Toronto Raptors have much of their future hanging in the balance this offseason with a couple of their core players in All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry and forward Serge Ibaka each available in free agency.

According to Michael Grange of Rogers Sportsnet, the Raptors hold much confidence that they can re-sign both players to deals this summer.

Lowry has drawn the most interest in the open market since the free agency period has begun, receiving inquiries from the likes of the Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings.

The 31-year-old has developed into one of the top point guards in the league over the last five years with the Raptors, while making them into a constant in the playoff picture with four straight appearances. Lowry is likely looking to garner a max deal and Toronto can offer a five-year contract worth north of $200 million.

That said, there have been a few conflicting reports that Lowry has “zero interest” in returning to the Raptors, which he quickly refuted. There is also talk that the team was looking into possibly going in another direction with younger players. However, this makes it clear that the front office has a strong desire to keep him paired in the backcourt with fellow All-Star guard DeMar DeRozan.

Meanwhile, Ibaka has been long rumored to strongly desire a return to Toronto. He was acquired prior to the trade deadline this past season and has made a seamless transition to fitting into the team's culture and offensive game plan.

If the Raptors are able to retain both Lowry and Ibaka, it will keep them in the mix as one of the top teams in the East and a piece away from truly competing with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
