Even at the age of 40, Vince Carter remains a relevant figure in the NBA. While it’s no longer mostly because of what he could bring to the court, his legend has grown so much that people are still talking about the 19-year veteran of the league.

Carter is unlikely to stay in the NBA for long, so it’s timely to speculate on how his last days as a professional would unfold. For those wanting a sprinkle of nostalgia, you can make so much out of what Sportsnet reporter Michael Grange recently tweeted.

As pointed out by Grange, it’s unclear what exactly Ujiri is alluding to. Does that mean that the Raptors are going to try to sign Carter once the former Slam Dunk king’s contract with the Sacramento Kings expires? Or does that mean the Raptors are going to raise Carter’s jersey into the rafters of Air Canada Centre sometime soon? Maybe, Ujiri is planning to hire Carter as part of the Raptors’ front office in the near future.

Whatever the case maybe, it’s going to be a prudent move for the Raptors’ management to give Carter any type of honor. After all, Carter has done so much in raising basketball popularity in the city of Toronto and in all of Canada as well during the six seasons he spent playing for the team from 1999 to 2005.
