The Toronto Raptors are aware that they face a big offseason this summer.

After concluding the 2015-16 season just two games shy of the 2016 NBA Finals, the Raptors are maybe a piece away from being an NBA Finals team next season.

In order to do that, they will likely have to re-sign their two key free agents—DeMar DeRozan and Bismack Biyombo.

Toronto general manager Masai Ujiri admitted to reporters on Monday that the team will have to get creative in order to retain both players.

“When I look at DeMar or Biyombo … we're proud of those guys and we want to bring them back. Sometimes those things are challenging and difficult, but it's our jobs to figure it out.”

DeRozan is fully expected to opt out of his contract this summer, while Biyombo will likely command a salary of about $15 million per year. The Congolese big man earned just $3 million this past season.

Despite the challenges the Raptors will face in re-signing both players, Ujiri stressed that both players are loyal:

“Our guys have said they want to be here. You build your culture and build your team. We have to get creative.”

Outside of the need to re-sign their two key free agents, the franchise will have to look for a starting power forward in free agency. Luis Scola was the starting power forward for most of the season, but was moved out of the rotation for a good share of the playoffs. The 36-year-old Scola willl be a free agent this summer.
