NBA veteran Anthony Morrow wasn't thrilled by the way the Toronto Raptors went about trading for Kawhi Leonard after reports of their brass lying to DeMar DeRozan were made known hours prior to the deal getting done.

The report explained how DeRozan met with members of the front office last week and addressed the recent trade rumors, getting assurance he wouldn't be dealt.

“Sheesh, Good luck to the Raptors in free agency after kawhi leaves after what they just pulled with Demar,” tweeted Morrow. “No superstar wanna play for a lying a$$ organization.”

If the report is true — as it seems to be by DeRozan's Instagram story as soon as the trade was made known — it's a definite bad look for a team that has already had storied problems bringing in talent and getting them to commit to staying.

Dealing for Leonard already involved plenty of risks, not knowing whether he would be willing to re-sign with the team next offseason, but their reported lie to DeRozan is a big smear on the organization's name.

That smear could cause an already unhappy Leonard to be extra wary of staying in Toronto long-term, as disputes with the organization are what made him want to leave a great situation with the San Antonio Spurs.
