The Toronto Raptors have some open space on their roster, and they have decided to fill one of the openings with guard Ben McLemore, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

McLemore played in 19 games with the Sacramento Kings this season, averaging 3.9 points over 8.3 minutes per game while shooting 39.1 percent from the floor and 41.5 percent from three-point range before being waived by the Kings earlier this week.

The 25-year-old was actually in his second stint with Sacramento.

McLemore, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Kansas, was originally selected by the Kings with the seventh overall pick of the 2013 NBA Draft and actually drew some Ray Allen comparisons for his three-point shooting ability coming out of college.

Needless to say, McLemore never became Ray Allen.

He played in all 82 games during his rookie campaign, registering just 8.8 points and 2.9 boards across 26.7 minutes a night while making 37.6 percent of his field-goal attempts, 32 percent of his long-distance tries and 80.4 percent of his free throws.

McLemore then showed some signs of life in his second season, recording 12.1 points and 2.9 rebounds through 32.6 minutes per game, connecting on 43.7 percent of his shots, 35.8 percent of his triples and 81.3 percent of his foul shots, but his relative success was short-lived.

He spent the first four years of his career in Sacramento before being signing with the Memphis Grizzlies during the summer of 2017.

After just one disappointing season in Memphis in which he posted just 7.5 points per game over 56 appearances, McLemore was traded back to the Kings this past July.
