Veteran guard Danny Green is happy that Marc Gasol decided to stay with the Toronto Raptors for their title defense in the 2019-20 NBA season.

Green said that Gasol will play an integral part in their title defense. The veteran center was a key factor for Toronto during their series against the Golden State Warriors. However, Green admitted that he is unsure if the Raptors will find a way to keep everyone in the team for another title shot.

“He's great and we obviously wanted him back,” Green said via Alex Kennedy of Hoopshype. “But in terms of cap space, it’s going to be tough for them to maneuver things with everyone. But we’ll see how it goes.”

One of the biggest questions marks for the Raptors is the future of Kawhi Leonard. The two-time NBA champion will become a free agent, and is already being linked to several teams. While a return to Toronto looks ideal, the Los Angeles Clippers are currently being tagged as his likely destination this summer.

Green himself is also unsure of his future, as he is also set to become a free agent. Aside from Leonard and Gree, role players Patrick McCaw, Jeremy Lin, Jodie Meeks, and Lorenzo Brown will also become free agents this summer.
