When Danny Green was with the San Antonio Spurs, he had many battles with Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol. Now that they are both with the Toronto Raptors, Green is excited that he and Gasol are finally teammates after years of going against each other.

The Raptors acquired Gasol from the Grizzlies at the trade deadline, giving Toronto a three-time All-Star and former Defensive Player of the Year.

Danny Green says Marc Gasol is one of the smartest players in the game and can't wait to go on a deep playoff run with the Spaniard by his side this time.

“He was one of my favorite players before he came to us because of how much he used to kick our ass when we played them,” Green told Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun. “He’s a great passing big. Screen-and-roll. He just understands the game and makes the game easier for everyone around him. I’m just excited to see his growth with us.”

Gasol has played in three games with the Raptors. He's averaging 10.0 points and 6.3 rebounds and shooting 52.2 percent from the floor. As he gets more comfortable with his new teammates and the system in Toronto, Gasol figures to be a walking double-double for the Raptors.
