Delon Wright, OG Anunoby out, Fred Van Vleet questionable vs. Mavs
The Toronto Raptors will again field a depleted lineup in tonight’s game against the Dallas Mavericks. Delon Wright (groin strain) and OG Anunoby (personal) are officially out for the game, while Fred VanVleet (toe sprain) is still questionable.
Toronto Sun’s Ryan Wolstat tweeted out this development from the Raptors camp.
Raptors say Wright and Anunoby (personal) out, VanVleet questionable

The absence of Wright and VanVleet would pose a challenge for the Raptors as they prepare their defensive schemes against the Mavs’ young backcourt of Dennis Smith Jr and Luka Doncic. Anunoby, arguably the team’s second-best defender, will also leave a gaping hole on the defensive end.
It could be recalled that the 6-foot-8 Anunoby also missed a pre-season game last September due to personal reasons. While reports say that the sophomore forward won’t miss another game again, it appears that the same personal problem could have warranted Anunoby’s immediate attention today.
Wright, a 6-foot-5 point guard, played his first game of the season in a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. But Wright did not do anything much that night as he just logged in five minutes. It’s safe to say that head coach Nick Nurse is still unsure of the young guard’s recovery from his thigh injury.
VanVleet, the primary backup for star Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry, is having a career season so far. He is averaging 11.5 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.0 rebounds. The sturdy-built playmaker also sat out the team’s win against the Timberwolves.
With Wright and the possibility of VanVleet being sidelined in tonight’s game, we’ll probably see more of point guard Lorenzo Brown or shooting guard Malachi Richardson against the Mavs.
