Trivia time! Quick, what’s the similarity between DeMar DeRozan’s Instagram account and the Toronto Raptors team that played in the second round of last season’s playoffs? Why, both have been wiped out, of course.

Anyone who checks on DeRozan’s Instagram account today would have nothing to show for their social media adventure, as there are zero – as in nada, nil, nothing – photos currently on display on the Raptors superstar’s account.

DeMar DeRozan is free to do whatever he wants with his photos, but bunch-deleting photos on social media is a trip more likely to be done by a teenage girl who just broke up with her boyfriend than by a multi-millionaire athlete who has a ton of material things to flaunt online. In any case, this is a mysterious move by DeRozan, one that may or may not have any connection to a recent idea floated by Zach Lowe of ESPN who said that Toronto is an ideal landing spot for beleaguered San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard via a trade that involves DeRozan.

The most logical all-in play on the board is Toronto offering DeRozan, one of Pascal Siakam, Delon Wright, Jakob Poeltl, and OG Anunoby, and a future first-round pick. Upgrade from DeRozan to Leonard, and the Drakes have a real shot to make the NBA Finals. Maybe Leonard would love Toronto, and enjoy playing in May and June in front of that nutty crowd.

Lowe was merely theorizing, but he’s not creating this up out of thin air either.

Or maybe, we’re just reading too much into DeRozan’s Instagram activity?
