Friday is going to be a very emotional day in Toronto, as San Antonio Spurs shooting guard DeMar DeRozan makes his much-anticipated return to face the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena.

DeMar DeRozan spent the first nine years of his NBA career with the Raptors. The All-Star made it known many times he wanted to spend his entire career in Toronto.

Team president Masai Ujiri then broke the heart of DeRozan and thousands of Raptors fans when he traded DeMar to the Spurs last summer to acquire superstar swingman Kawhi Leonard. To this day, DeRozan maintains Ujiri lied to him last summer by telling him he wasn't going to be traded.

DeRozan knows Friday is going to be the most emotional game of his basketball life.

“I think it’ll definitely be one for the ages,” DeRozan told Josh Lewenberg of TSN. “It’s something where you think you’ve experienced everything, but that will be an interesting moment.”

DeRozan is the Raptors' franchise leader in games, minutes, field goals and points. He is still loved by the fans in Toronto and will certainly get a huge ovation from the crowd on Friday.

Kawhi Leonard is having an MVP-type season for the Raptors, so the fans in Toronto have been able to come to grips with the trade, but they definitely miss DeRozan and everything he brought to the franchise.
