An initial report stated that undrafted forward Deng Adel had agreed to join the Minnesota Timberwolves for the team's preseason training camp, but the 22-year-old appears to have had a change of heart and is now set to sign a deal with the Toronto Raptors, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Coming out of Victory Rock Prep High School in Bradenton, Florida, Adel considered several sports scholarship offers (including the likes of Connecticut and Virginia Tech) before finally deciding to commit to Louisville. Adel played three seasons with the Cardinals and averaged 11.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 0.5 steals in 33.1 minutes per contest.

Adel made himself eligible for this year's draft, but unfortunately for him, went undrafted after two rounds. Adel signed with the Houston Rockets for the Summer League, but his brief stint with the side did not warrant him an offer from the team.

According to Charania, Adel will be signing a partially guaranteed deal with the Raptors after spurning Minnesota. This means that Adel will likely be spending his season in the G League, while awaiting a potential call-up to the big league. With the Raptors' talent-packed roster, it would take a considerable amount of injuries before head coach Nick Nurse calls Adel's number.
