Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry has been a member of the team since 2012. He has seen all their attempts to win a championship, and how all of them were sent crashing to the ground. Still, he kept working hard to help the franchise reach its goal, even when his best friend DeMar DeRozan was traded last summer, he kept his focus and found a way to gel with newcomer Kawhi Leonard.

Now the Raptors are in the Finals and are one win away from a title. Lowry was not the main reason why Toronto made it this far, but he has accepted his role as the team's primary facilitator and third option on offense, and that worked wonders for them.

NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski is happy to see Lowry at this stage. In the recent episode of The Woj Pod, he said that although the veteran guard is not a franchise player, he has thrived in his new role with the Raptors.

“He's not built to carry a franchise to an NBA Finals, but in his role (with this team), he's been outstanding.”

As Adrian Wojnarowski could tell you, Lowry is averaging close to 17 points and nine assists in the first four games of the Finals, three of which the Raptors have won. He is no longer needed to score a lot of points; that responsibility is being shouldered by Kawhi Leonard and, to some extent, Pascal Siakam. But his ability to orchestrate the offense and make the right decisions on both ends of the floor has made him very important to the Raptors.

He may not be close to being considered as the Finals MVP, but he's definitely been a valuable piece to this championship team.
