Raptors’ Fred Van Vleet doesn’t ‘give a f**k’ about LeBronto

Fred Van Vleet, LeBron James

LeBron James dominated Game 2 of the Cleveland Cavaliers second round series against the Toronto Raptors on Thursday night, putting up 43 points, 14 assists, and eight rebounds helping the Cavs to a 2-0 series lead.

Mark Jones of ESPN was so impressed by James’ utter dominance that at the end of the third quarter, he gave Toronto a new name, LeBronto.

The talk around the league the last few years has been about how the Toronto Raptors just can’t seem to get past the Cavaliers. Every year the Raptors look better and better, but then they run into the Cavs and it’s like a whole different team shows up.

Fred VanVleet was asked about the new term tor Toronto and he didn’t mince words talking about it.

“How do I feel about it? I don’t give a f*ck.”

For VanVleet didn’t get  ton of playing time in Game 1 because of the shoulder injury he has been dealing with over the last couple of weeks, but played 24 minutes in Game 2, putting up 14 points and 4 assists. He also shot 4-of-7 from deep. From the tone of his comments, though, it sure sounds like he is quite frustrated with how the series has played out so far and will probably be extra motivated from Game 3.

Good thing for the Raptors they still have two more losses to work with although the task is only going to get harder going to Cleveland.

If the Raptors want to win at least one or two of the games on the road, VanVleet is going to need to play a huge role. He played a huge role during the regular season and the Raptors need to get him back to that Sixth Man level of confidence and performance.
