Toronto Raptors fans need not to worry about Fred VanVleet.

After colliding knees with Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons in their scrimmage on Sunday, VanVleet gave a positive update on his injury.

FVV had to leave the game, but the Raptors guard didn't seem to be hampered by the knee injury during Monday's practice. He even shared what's his headspace is like in the NBA restart in these extraordinary conditions.

“I feel good,” VanVleet said when asked where his game was at right now, per Mike Ganter of Ottawa Sun. “I feel good in practice, I feel good when I’m working out, I feel good in the scrimmages. Again, it’s gonna take time. I spoke about this a little bit earlier. We haven’t had our full team pretty much all year and now in this position playing a whole entire new game of basketball with a new team, trying to figure everything out.”

Fred VanVleet is one of the key pillars of the Raptors. He entered the spotlight last year when he made his mark as a key bench performer, especially in the playoffs. Before the season was suspended in March, he was averaging 17.6 points 3.8 rebounds and 6.6 assists, all of which are career-highs.

He's one of the reasons why the Raptors have remained title contenders this year, contrary to what analysts have said. According to critics, the moment that Kahwhi Leonard left, Toronto was going to scale back down to a mid-tier team. Yet here we are: the Canada-based squad is still one of the top teams in the league, poised to defend their title.
