The Toronto Raptors bench were likely to be shorthanded in Game 2 against the Washington Wizards as guard Fred VanVleet, who has been dealing with a shoulder injury over the last couple of weeks. As of Tuesday afternoon, VanVleet had his ‘game-time decision' status downgraded all the way to ‘doubtful,' but is now on track to play today.

X-Rays on VanVleet's shoulder came back negative, and although it doesn't seem to be a serious injury, the Raptors seemed to be playing it safe as to make sure they don't cause any further damage.

After a quiet first season in Toronto, VanVleet has really taken a step forward in his second year in the league to become the team's Sixth Man, averaging 8.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game across 76 appearances. He was a really good shooter from deep averaging 41.1 percent.

He has been a big key for the bench unit being so strong for the Raptors this year, and he'll be key for the Raptors to get past the Wizards en route to a deep playoff run.

In terms of Game 2, it's unclear what to expect after Delon Wright played 25 minutes in Game 1, putting up 18 points. On the season, Wright is averaging 8.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game.

The Raptors are going to have to rely on him if they want to take a 2-0 series lead.
