The league suspended several Toronto Raptors players including Fred VanVleet for their apparent role in the scuffle with the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday. Fans who tuned in to the game were puzzled about VanVleet's suspension, but especially VanVleet himself who flocked to Twitter to express his thoughts.

VanVleet just had to laugh out loud after the NBA sanctioned him for his role in the Lakers-Raptors altercation on Tuesday. VanVleet's followers sided with him, even posting video proof that the guard was actually trying to prevent the scuffle from escalating further.

A fan posted a clip showing that several of those suspended like Talen Horton Tucker and Fred VanVleet had really no active role in the tussle. The Raptors guard was not even on the active roster list but stepped in to pull away Gary Trent Jr.

Ballislife.com also posted a clip that further underlines that Toronto's VanVleet did not, in any way shape or form, make the situation worse.

Another follower posted how silly the ruling is.

However, one fan noted that the NBA might have suspended Horton-Tucker and VanVleet for simply leaving the Raptors bench area. The fan noted that such a rule exists in the league and was created after the Pacers-Pistons brawl in 2004 or more popularly known as The Malice at the Palace.

But still, some fans disagreed with the ruling. But whatever the case may be, the referees have been getting a lot of flack over the years for their extremely stern (sometimes to the point of an exaggeration) enforcement of league rules. Count Raptors star Fred VanVleet in that camp.
