Gary Trent Jr. has been a member of the Toronto Raptors for less than 10 games and he's already receiving some love from fans via DMs. This has not only motivated Trent to play better, but it has made him extra giddy to meet them at the Scotiabank Arena.

Per Josh Lewenberg of TSN, Trent Jr. admitted that fans have been DM-ing him. It doesn't matter if the team picked up the victory or not. Raptors fans are letting Trent know that he's already much-adored by the city.

“I still get so much love from the fans on the internet – good game, bad game, every DM, everything. They're showing me love so I can only imagine what it's like in person. I cannot wait to get out there”

To recall, the Raptors have been playing their home games at the Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay, Florida. This is in observance of the COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Despite this, fans have been showing their love for the Raptors throughout the season. They're not letting the distance get in the way of letting the Raptors know that they're right behind them.

The Raptors fans' love for Trent Jr. must be at an all-time high. After all, he knocked down the game-winning 3-pointer on Monday against the Washington Wizards in just his sixth game as a Raptor. After the game, head coach Nick Nurse admitted that he almost called a timeout that would've interrupted the rhythm of the players:

“I almost called (a timeout) but I thought there's plenty of time to get it up there and get off a shot,” Raptors coach Nick Nurse said, per the Associated Press via ESPN. “There's lots of reasons not to take it, and we were fortunate this time. We were due.”

The Raptors fans are indeed a class act. Here's to hoping that their support can help the team squeeze out more victories.
