Veteran guard Goran Dragic is set to embark on the latest chapter of his career when he joins the Toronto Raptors this season. The team's training camp is set to begin and the seasoned playmaker is expected to play a huge role for the young squad.

Dragic and the Raptors, however, started on the wrong foot. After being traded by the Miami Heat as part of the Kyle Lowry package, the All-Star guard said the Raptors were not his preferred destination, adding he has “higher ambitions.” That didn't sit well with Raptors fans, quite understandably.

But it seems Dragic has slowly embraced his new situation, even recognizing the team's history, including Lowry's contributions. Dragic will be wearing No. 1 with the Raptors. He said he was happy to give his friend and former teammate Kyle Lowry his blessing to wear No. 7 with Miami and never considered asking him to do the same, understands what Lowry means to the Raps franchise.
