The Toronto Raptors have resembled the walking wounded for much of the 2019-20 season up to this point, and according to head coach Nick Nurse prior to Tuesday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, it doesn't appear that the situation will come to an end anytime soon.

Nurse said that the trio of Pascal Siakam, Norman Powell and Marc Gasol are “a ways away” from getting back on the floor. Each man is dealing with an injury of his own, and all issues seem serious enough to leave them on the shelf for the near future.

The absence of the Pascal Siakam, Norman Powell and Marc Gasol trio leaves a hefty offensive workload in the lap of backcourt All-Star candidates Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet.

The Raptors have become accustomed to playing without their full allotment of talent, having seen both Lowry and VanVleet miss significant chunks of action earlier in the year. Despite those setbacks, however, the team enters play Tuesday with a 22-11 record on the season, good for fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings.

While Gasol has established himself as the anchor of the Raptors' defense since his arrival in February from the Memphis Grizzlies, it's the absence of Siakam that the team feels the most. The league's reigning Most Improved Player has continued his ascension into superstardom during his fourth year in the league, making the rare case for winning the award two years in a row.

Through his first 27 games, Siakam has averaged 25.1 points and eight rebounds per contest while playing the fourth-most minutes (36.7) in the league on a nightly basis.
