NBA free agency is just a week away, and one of the biggest questions surrounding it at the moment is “Where will Kawhi Leonard go?”

Leonard just helped the Toronto Raptors win their first NBA championship as a franchise, and a lot of people are already speculating that he is now headed to L.A. to join either the Clippers or the Lakers. But there are still individuals who believe that the best move for the two-time Finals MVP is to stay in Toronto. One is NBA analyst Jalen Rose.

Rose believes that it will be better for Kawhi Leonard to re-sign with the Raptors because he will have another opportunity at a title next season. However, Rose doesn't want Kawhi to be there on a short-term deal. He wants the All-NBA forward to sign the supermax that will allow him to be in Toronto for five years.

Kawhi Leonard will definitely consider all of his options in the coming days. He already scheduled a tentative meeting with the Clippers on July 2, a little more than 24 hours after free agency officially begins. The Lakers will also try to be in the Kawhi sweepstakes, especially since they are already doing everything they can to clear enough cap space in order to create a max slot for another top-tier free agent.

Of course, the Raptors have the edge at the moment; they were the team that took a risk on Leonard last year when he was just coming back from a serious injury.

Whether he stays with or leaves the Raptors, Kawhi has already given them one of the best and most memorable gifts they can ever get.

A championship trophy.
