Veteran shooting guard Jodie Meeks has agreed to a deal with the Toronto Raptors for the rest of the season, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

Meeks signed a 10-day contract with the Raptors on Feb. 20. He appeared in two games with the team before his 10-day contract expired.

Meeks began his NBA career with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2009. He has since played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, Washington Wizards and Raptors.

The 31-year-old Tennessee native has career averages of 9.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 533 games. The guard can shot the ball from the 3-point line well and he apparently made a good impression on the Raptors during his 10-day contract.

Toronto has the second-best record in the Eastern Conference at 51-23. You can never have enough shooting, especially in the playoffs when the game slows down and half-court execution is at a premium. Meeks should be able to stretch the floor for the Raptors and create driving lanes for Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry. It will also give Marc Gasol and Serge Ibaka more room to operate in the post.

The Raptors host the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday. We'll see if Meeks gets any game action.
