Toronto Raptors star small forward Kawhi Leonard says he appreciates the support from the city of Toronto.

Pretty much all season long, the city of Toronto and Raptors fans have been serenading Leonard with love nonstop. Restaurants around the city recently started a campaign called “Ka’wine & Dine” with the hopes of convincing Leonard to re-sign with the Raptors this summer. Leonard can eat for free at these restaurants.

Kawhi says being part of the first Raptors team to reach the NBA Finals is special.

Leonard literally has an entire country supporting him right now. If the three-time All-Star and two-time Defensive Player of the Year brings a championship to Toronto, the Raptors might build him a statue. Everything Leonard has accomplished in just one season with the Raptors has been epic, especially considering he only played in nine games last season with the San Antonio Spurs.

Leonard has been the league's best player during the postseason, averaging 30.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 50.1 percent from the field and 39.4 percent from beyond the arc.

A report surfaced on Friday that Leonard may re-sign with the Raptors on a short-term deal this summer. That would made Toronto fans extremely happy and supporters of the Los Angeles Clippers very upset. The Clippers, of course, are the team many believe Leonard will sign with if he decides to leave Toronto.

Toronto can offer Leonard the most money in free agency and a fifth year on his deal.
