Toronto Raptors superstar Kawhi Leonard has never been one to say much, and when he does say something, it's usually a one-word answer without any juice behind it.

But, his breakup with the San Antonio Spurs has apparently left him bitter enough to finally say something headline-worthy.

When asked about his good relationship with the Raptors' medical staff on Friday, Leonard had this to say:

“It's big. You've gotta be able to play for people you trust and them be able to see what you feel,” said Leonard, according to Josh Lewenberg of TSN. “And you just go from there and try to get better together.”

Now, Leonard could have just been talking about the Raptors here. Maybe he wasn't even thinking about the Spurs.

But it seems like the “play for people you trust” comment was definitely directed at his former San Antonio club, especially when you take into consideration that Kawhi was specifically talking about the medical staff.

Remember: the 27-year-old played in just nine games for the Spurs last year due to a quad injury that San Antonio's medical staff could not seem to identify. Not only that, but Spurs doctors had cleared Leonard to play, so the fact that he was choosing to sit out did not sit well in San Antonio.

As a result, Leonard ultimately asked for a trade, and the Spurs obliged by sending him to Toronto in a deal that sent DeMar DeRozan to San Antonio.

Leonard scored 37 points in a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday night.
