Along with the Toronto Raptors' ascent to prominence this season is Kyle Lowry's positively different approach to the game. Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant took note of Lowry's brilliance as he gave heaps of praises to the All-Star playmaker.

Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports tweeted out Durant's comments on Lowry's transformation to a premier playmaker in the league.

“I think he's finally settled into his role as a facilitator, more so than trying to be the 2nd scorer. He's getting everybody involved with the assist and he's coming through late in games when they need him. I think he's playing the perfect point guard role.”

More known as a score-first point guard throughout his career, Lowry has taken a step back in the points department and focused his sights on setting up his teammates for opportunities to score. His 15.6 points per game this season is his lowest since 2013, but his impressive 10.2 assists per game is a career-high.

On top of that, Lowry's 46% clip from the field is also a career-high. The Raptors' high-powered offense is currently ranked 3rd in the league while their overall field goal percentage is ranked 2nd.

When DeMar DeRozan was shipped out of Toronto last summer, many believed that the team will find it difficult to establish their offense. Lowry, a four-time All-Star, obviously took note of this as he took it upon himself to facilitate the new Raptors' offensive system under head coach Nick Nurse.

Lowry and the Raptors will stake their league-leading 18-4 record against Durant and the Warriors on Thursday night.
