Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry believes swingman Pascal Siakam is “the most improved basketball player in the NBA.”

Siakam had a stellar Game 3 against the Orlando Magic. The youngster put up 30 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Raptors to a five-point win.

Toronto is up 2-1 versus the Magic in their first round series. Siakam is averaging 24.3 points and 10.0 rebounds, showing the world he is one of the brightest young stars in the NBA.

“He’s unbelievable,” Kyle Lowry said of Siakam, via Josh Lewenberg of The Sports Network. “He’s the most improved basketball player in the NBA this year. He’s going to continue to grow and get better. His personality is just to go play and have fun. I think he’s done that and we understand this year he has the mismatch a lot of the times.

“It’s pretty cool to see him come from where he’s come from – starting but not playing much, in the G-League, winning a [G-League] championship [with Raptors 905], then have a good year last year and take the next step this year. It was great game for him. It’s fun to watch.”

Last season for the Raptors, Siakam put up just 7.3 points per game. No one really knew who he was.

Siakam made sure everyone would learn his name this season, though. The 25-year-old put up 16.9 points in the regular season and is the favorite to win the 2019 Most Improved Player of the Year award.
